Emmett Culligan Design was founded in 1996 by Emmett Culligan after he completed a BFA in sculpture from the University of Colorado at Denver. Inspired by the Bauhaus principles of a "universal unity in which opposing forces exist in a state of absolute balance", the idea behind the business was simple; start a company with the ability to take the creative process from inception to completion.

Working with metal, wood, stone and glass, Emmett Culligan Design specializes in the integration of a wide range of materials into a variety of contexts. Emmett Culligan Design has a large, well-equipped fabrication facility in Denver Colorado, where he and his staff enjoy the wide-open spaces and abundant natural resources the state has to offer.

Emmett Culligan Design has work in many locations throughout the world, including the REI flagship store in Denver and the Katz Collections in New York City and Cannes, France.
